Brisbane - Scenic Rim — Brisbane
20 March 2014
This ride was a bit of a big deal at the time it occurred. While the CB1100 was released in Japan, and other Asian and Oceanic countries in 2010, it was not released in the USA until 2013. That was significant in the context of this blog because the rides were written up for the CB1100 Forum which was established in the USA after the release of the bike. This was the first time a meeting of two Australian members of the forum occurred — or, at least, the first time it was written up.
Here is the first photo posted on the forum of two Australian CB1100s together in one place. Better than that, it happened because of a forum hosted in the USA. In the blue corner, Enzo's CB1100; in the black corner, Cormanus's bike.
I promise they're different colours. For Randy, here's that blue tank,
We met south of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia at a place called Beaudesert and rode around an area called the Scenic Rim. It's a bit flatter than my part of the world, drier (at the moment) but very attractive none the less. It's bracketed to the south by the Border Range between Queensland and New South Wales.
Stopped for a very ordinary burger at Rathdowney and met a Harley rider on his way to NSW ...
Homeward bound ...
Thanks for a great day, Enzo. It was fabulous meeting another CB1100 owner and seeing his bike.
