I met Pterodactyl via a ride to the lighthouse on Sydney's South Head. After coffee and a chat about proposed routes, I headed south through the Royal National Park to Wollongong.

From Wollongong, it was up the Macquarie Pass to the Robertson Pie Shop for a chicken and leek pie.
Then down the Kangaroo Valley Road …
Across the bridge …
A short length of the busy coast road to HMAS Albatross and thence up the much quieter and more enjoyable road to Braidwood and Tarago.
All the while keeping a leery eye on the daily build up that could produce a good soaking.
I overnighted at the Loaded Dog Hotel in Tarago where, as I recall, Inhouse Bob had his first encounter with Vegemite.
